Why should your family register and become active members at a parish?
To be an “active” member is to participate in the life of prayer and stewardship in the parish.
- All adults over the age of 21, living with their parents or on their own, must register in the parish to be considered active members.
- Active” members use envelopes, checks or online giving so the individual develops a history of sharing treasure with the parish. This also allows you to get a year-end tax statement from the parish and shows that you have attended Mass within the parish.
- Participating in one or more of the ministries offered by the parish is proof of the sharing of time and talent for the greater good of the parish community.
- “Active” membership at a parish enables a person to be eligible to sponsor a child for baptism, to be married in the parish and to prepare one’s children for the Sacraments. A Sponsor should be a active member registered in the parish for at least six months.
- “Active” membership at the parish enables a family to receive financial aid for Catholic education. The financial aid is offered to families who are Catholic and have been registered in the parish for six months.
- In case of an emergency, the parish can contact you or a member of your family.
